Downhill

Life gone.
Opportunities lost.
Moisture dessicated.
Freshness dehydrated.
What was young and fresh and tender
aged and dried and brittle.
Grace disgraced and Faith defaced.
Creation undone and Glory defrocked.
The irreversible flow of order into chaos
Irrevocably reduced to the skeleton of a dancer
or the skull of a storyteller
The steady stream pouring downhill dragging humanity by its hair into the gurgling drainpipes of the chaos monster’s insatiable appetite.

To defeat this?
Faith to conquer this?

– Tim Goh

Happy birthday to you, my pastor and brother. I thank God for the day you are born, with Goh thighs and all. (I’ve got the Chang thighs too) May faith take hold of us to stare the enemy in his eyes and defeat him.

If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing;
whoever attacks you will surrender to you.

See, it is I who created the blacksmith
who fans the coals into flame
and forges a weapon fit for its work.
And it is I who have created the destroyer to work havoc;

no weapon forged against you will prevail,
and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD,
and this is their vindication from me,”
declares the LORD.

Isaiah 54:15-17
