Sometimes I do wish that I have access to my future self. To let me know whether it’s all worth it.
Of course, that only happens in films.
It seems that “logic” and “reason” is occupying a space that is slowly diminishing in my world. There is only so much we could claim to know or predict using whatever information that is available to us. There are moments when we just have to go with our gut and “to boldly go where no man has gone before”. That means we can’t settle with just thinking things that are comfortable for us. We need to break through the limitations that culture has set on us. Rebel if we have to. Say bold prayers. Rise to the occasion. Take command. Step down. Be a leader and a servant all at once.
Some of us don’t realize. The future is coming. At warpspeed towards us, in the Present. The Process is already in place when Someone died 2000 years ago. The question is, how am I preparing to meet this Future that is certainly glorious?
Christopher Pike: [to Kirk] You’ve always had a hard time finding your place in this world, haven’t you? Never knowing your true worth. You can settle for less in ordinary life, or do you feel like you were meant for something better? Something special.
